Spit

why is it

that some people

take this womans words and spit them back at her

saying "can you not speak english?"

others

return only uncomfortable silence

and yet others

want to dig inside her head

and find from whence these words come

and then!

there are even fewer others

who somehow seem to

take each archaic phrase in stride

and return some very lovely turns of their own :)

she wonders

how can she learn to tell one from the other

before the spit flies?
