Swallow Still Not Dead Yet Shock, None Hurt

No-one has been more shocked than myself at the astonishing news that one of the most pointless sites on the Web, the so-called ezine 'Swallow', has not in fact folded. This runs counter to comments made by all seventeen of the actual people who have seen it, and follows a number of other equally spectacular non-failures in this region of web publishing.

Analysts point to the unique business model that Swallow has employed, that of paying no-one and making no money; then they laugh. Tax experts, suspicious that there may be some subtle fraud taking place, would love to go through Swallow's books, but there aren't any. Web design gurus only need to take one very brief look at the splash intro page to know that they aren't interested.

For all of which, rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, hallelujah and be happy.

This (cough) month, there are a number of things worth seeing in Swallow, because, rejoice rejoice rejoice etc, I haven't written all of it. With contributors of the calibre of Vita Amory, James McCabe, Jaida and Parm Kaur, you can skip all the boring bits and go straight to the good stuff.

Tiresome though it may be to point out, all material credited to someone specific is copyrighted by them, as usual, so contact them before you nick it.

It has been pointed out to me that poets should be appreciated more - a sentiment which it is hard to fault, so please find a poet and appreciate them. Immediately. If you can't find a poet to appreciate you should take a long hard look at your priorities. Then find a poet to appreciate.

What with Kathy Acker and Stephane Grappelli both dying in the same weekend, I am too gutted to write any more. And that was before I heard about Night Daemon, who I never knew or came across but whose story is too sad for words.

Just because I'm part of the precipitate doesn't mean you can't be part of the solution.

Of course.
