Another Love Poem (the first in a while), to Amanda (who used to live on Bourke Street)

I try to control the excitement within me,
While I cross Oxford Street, as if pulled by the breeze,
My face feels aflush as I glide through the hustle and bustle that simmers
in the shade of the trees.
Because Love is in the air!

And my heart wants to break free, away from the body, and fly to your
breast.

How long I've ignored the strong/ subtle love rhythm, hidden from harm
(so I thought) in my chest.

I'm walking to your place, your comforting embrace, the passionate
couplings we make in your room,
And as Centrepoint tower grows erect in my vision, I smile to myself - I'll
be with you quite soon.

I run up the steps to the console of buzzers,
hitting the right one, I hear your sweet voice.
I fly through the doorway, the door shuts behind me,
I know now for sure I've made the right choice.

And as your door opens my mind's in a swirl,

For I know the most beautiful girl in the world.
